Cecil (Jack) Hazlitt
Description
Jack put his age up to enlist in 1915 and arrived in Gallipoli as a signaler with the 28th Battalion. He went to France in 1916 and joined the Signals Company of the 4th Division. He was severally shell shocked on a signal assignment and repatriated back to Australia in 1917. Jack was trained as a pilot but later failed to pass a health test. He was one of the first employees of Qantas Airways in Queensland as a ground engineer and worked in the same capacity for the Australian Arial Service in New South Wales. Depicts a portrait of Sapper Cecil (Jack) Hazlitt on pilgrimage for the 75 anniversary of the Landing at Gallipoli.
