Description
Typescript of letters from 2nd Lieutenant Williams, platoon commander of 3 Platoon, A Company, 1 RAR, to family living in Singapore. Stationed at Bien Hoa, Williams comments on Viet Cong activities and ambushes, appearance and practices of U.S. troops, helicopters, impressions of Saigon, possibility of leave, various operations and casualties, and media interviews/articles. Includes copy of Commander's combat note for operation conducted by 173D Airborne Brigade (American) on 14 July 1965. (See also PR91/179)
