Morotai, 1945-08. Sister Carmel Medwin, Australian Army Nursing Service (AANS), and a group of patients outside one of the tent wards at the 2/5th Australian General Hospital (AGH). One of the patients, second from the right, is Private Nelson Short, one of only six men to survive the Sandakan-Ranau death march. (Donor Carmel Mortley)
