Description
Using a felled tree as a bridge and holding a wire rope strung across the river, an unidentified member of 7 Battalion, The Royal Australian Regiment (7RAR), negotiates a crossing of the Song Rai during Operation Santa Fe, a multi-brigade search and destroy operation aimed at clearing the enemy out of their base and logistics areas in the Thua Tich and May Tao regions. The soldier is carrying a full patrol kit with an ammunition belt slung across his shoulder and an M60 machine gun under his arm.
