Description
Four members of the 2/19th Battalion watch from the windows of a train as it departs the railway station en route from Bathurst to Sydney where they are to embark onboard HMT Queen Mary for Malaya. Identified are: NX56107 Private (Pte) William Burston Graham ‘Graham’ Bartley (later held as a POW); NX35152 Pte Harrie Gibbons (discharged 8 September 1941); NX55915 Pte Gilbert Palmer Mant (discharged 3 September 1941); NX57296 Pte John William ‘Shorty’ Bridge (later held as a POW).
