Changhowon-ni, Korea, c. 1951-01. With Owen submachine gun in hand, Corporal (Cpl) Bob Metcalfe of 4 Platoon, B Company, 3rd Battalion, The Royal Australian Regiment (3RAR), looks out over a snow-covered expanse from his hilltop position. At Cpl Metcalfe's back is his simple hoochie consisting of matting laid over some wooden supports. Some straw has been spread on the ground to provide some insulation from the cold. (Donor I.
