c. 1944. A cook with the Women's Royal Australian Naval Service (WRANS) passes bowls of food to another member of the WRANS who is dressed in uniform. They are standing beside a stove in a mess kitchen. Cooks and mess stewards at most naval establishments were members of WRANS at this time.
