50 mm Type 89 Mortar Bomb
Description
Japanese 50 mm Type 89 Mortar Bomb with nose fuze. The body is a cylinder of 50 mm diameter and 111 mm length with a round end on the front. The body is steel except for a 16 mm brass band located 5 mm above the base. The body is painted black with a 4 mm red band at the nose around the fuze hole, and a 12 mm yellow band around the centre of the body. There is a brass nose fuze 34 mm long and 26 mm diameter at its widest screwed into the nose. A safety pin is inserted near the base of the fuze. There are Japanese characters stamped into the brass nose fuze.
