The outside of the projectile is painted mid-blue. There is a tool slot in the pointed nose and a section join 10 mm from the nose. There are two 20 mm wide copper driving bands (7 mm apart) located 43 mm above the base. There is an unpainted alloy plug 89 mm diameter and 10 mm wide inserted in the base. The driving bands show barrel rifling firing indentations but the projectile body does not show any signs of having been fired (no paint missing etc).
