Dornap, Germany. 1917-06. A group portrait of Allied prisoners of war. In the second row from front, third from the right in the row seated on the bench, is 2568 Private Percy G. Cooke MM, 15th Battalion. Private Cooke was awarded his Military Medal for bravery in the field during the operations at Pozieres, Belgium, in August 1916. He was later awarded another MM for his behaviour during his years in captivity, culminating in his escape to Holland on 5-7 April 1918 from a farm near Ossenberg, Germany. (Donor; G. Jackson)
