On the Continent, Europe. C. 1945-04. Warrant Officer P. F. Griffiths, pilot of the Meteorological Flight based on the Continent, in the cockpit of his Spitfire aircraft. In special circumstances the pilot radios the readings of the Distant Reading Thermometer and the Sensitive Aneroid Barometer back to the Meteorological Officer, but usually he makes notes on the knee pad which he brings down with him for the de-briefing.
