Description
Visselhovede, Germany. 1945-02-22. A Mosquito aircraft of No. 464 Squadron RAAF flies at low level to attack two groups of four locomotives on the centre approach tracks to the railway station at Visselhovede, west of Soltau and north of Hanover. In this photograph two bombs can be seen landing on the track alongside a group of locomotives. No results are seen because the bombs were timed to go off seconds later. The pilot and navigator are both Queenslanders, Pilot Officer (PO) G. W. Nunn of "Wyuna" Kilcoy and PO H. L. Mitchell of Mount Morgan.
