London, England. 1944-07-18. Squadron Leader (Sqn Ldr) Kenneth R. Sands DFC and BAR, RAAF, of Perth, WA, who served for three years in the Middle East, most of the time with the famous Australian Kittyhawk Fighter Bomber No. 450 Squadron RAAF. Sqn Ldr Sands has given two talks in the Pacific Service of the BBC. In the first he told the story of the operations carried out by No. 450 Squadron RAAF in the early months of 1944, in highly successful strikes at shipping, in bombing communications and road transport, and in close Army co-operation work. In the second he described his experiences in Normandy.
