Nijmegen, Germany. C. 1944-10. Six RAF Spitfire pilots of 2nd Tactical Air Force share in shooting down the first German jet propelled aircraft over Nijmegen on the afternoon of 1944-10-05. The aircraft, an Me 262, was hit several times and dived straight into the ground. An RAF officer examined pieces of the wreckage of the Me 262.
