Description
Barraca. Two Diggers of the 2/8th Battalion, F. J. Tyas of Cardross, Vic (third from left) and J. Kerr of Swan Hill, Vic (right) lend Pieto, Josephina and Maria a hand with the washing in the cow shed. The men are billeted with this Italian family of settlers, who insisted on washing and mending the tunics of every man staying in their cottage. It took two days for all the tunics to be washed and mended. (NEGATIVE BY D. PARER).
