Identified women include Mrs Setsuko Franklin (second from left), wife of Sgt F Franklin and Mrs Norie Holzheimer (far left), wife of the photographer Sgt Claude Holzeheimer.This was the first time Japanese wives and friends of mess members were invited to such a function.
