Description
Norman Brooke DCM of the 1st Pioneer Battalion and 2nd Medium Trench Mortar Battery, later of the 45th Battalion Royal Fusiliers. Arrived in England in April 1919 after being demobilised in France; joined the North Russian Relief Force in 1919 whilst waiting for transport back to Australia; expected to serve as a garrison trooper to relieve those who had been there in 1918 and to guard stores belonging to the British Army, but ended up being involved in more fighting.
