Description
A barrage balloon on loan from the US 7th Air Force tethered to the ground at the 1st Australian Task Force (ATF) base. Attached to the sides and bottom of the balloon are three PRC25 radio communications sets. The Field Operational Research Section (FORS) attached the radio equipment to the balloon so that, when aloft, it would increase the distance over which communications could be maintained with Special Air Services (SAS) units operating in the field.
