Blinding lesson
Description
Depicts a young Somali boy, Mohamad, attacking another young boy with a tin opener from a ration pack, by thrusting the tin opener into one of his eyes. Gittoes noted of this work; '...Mohamad appeared with something clenched in his fist - It was an American tin opener from the ration pack I had given him - as the other boy looked up at Mohamad, Mohamad thrust the opener into the other boy's eye. Mohamad stared for a moment at me - then ran off - his clean bandage still on his leg. The other boy was weeping, blood streaming down his hands from his eye...'.
