Collection relating to the military service of Colonel Francis Phillip Serong DSO OBE, Strategic Adviser to Burmese Defence Forces, Australian Army, Burma, 1961-1962.
Wallet 1 of 1 - Collection contains copies of monthly official correspondence from Colonel (Col) Francis Phillip Serong to Lieutenant General Reginald George Pollard, Chief of the General Staff, reporting on the military situation in Burma. Matters raised include the level of training and tactics, internal politics, military policy, and relations with China. Latter part of correspondence concerns Col Serong's interest in South Vietnam and suggested commitments of Australian Militiary Advisors to assist the republic of South Vietnam.
