#AnzacAtHome 2020
Due to COVID-19, people could not gather as they had in previous years to commemorate military service by attending the annual Dawn Service. In the lead-up to Anzac Day, Australians were encouraged to conduct private driveway commemorations and #AnzacAtHome 2020 was a hashtag phrase developed to recognise and signify the shift to privately commemorating Anzac Day at home rather than through attending public ceremonies. Wendy and Peter Mahoney, both veterans, acknowledged their own service along with that of Wendy's father, WX40745 Major Alexander James Hugh 'Jim' McCallum, 'Z' Special Unit and Jim McCallum's father Archibald James Vincent McCallum and uncle Angus Duncan 'Dunc' McCallum who both served in the First World War. Handmade poppies, photographs of Archibald, Jim and Dunc McCallum, a gunner's insignia and cloth patch are attached to a wreath and displayed at the front gate.
