Description

Tobruk, Libya. c. 1942. Captured Italian artillery. Bardia Bill was a nickname given to a battery of Italian medium guns which fired on Australian positions near Salum before the capture of Bardia by the 6th Australian Division. The larger gun in this photograph was, later in the campaign, given the same name by Australian forces besieged in Tobruk.
