Studio portrait of 5792 Private (Pte) Albert William Davis, 22nd Battalion, of Rutherglen, Vic. A coach builder prior to enlistment, Pte Davis embarked with the 16th Reinforcements on HMAT Nestor on 2nd October 1916. After promotion to Corporal (Cpl) he died on 21st May 1918 of wounds received in action and was buried in the Vignacourt British Cemetery, France.
