Portrait: Captain Henry John Keightley 11th Field Artillery Brigade 4th Division AIF
Description
Studio portrait of Captain (Cpt) Henry John Keightley, 11th Field Artillery Brigade of Sandgate, Queensland. A state school teacher with over five years commissioned service in the Citizens’ Forces prior to enlistment as a Commissioned Officer in the AIF on 23 March 1916. He embarked from Sydney aboard HMAT Argyllshire (A8) on 11 May 1916. Whilst overseas he transferred between various Field Artillery Brigades, including the 9th, 10th and 11th. He served through to the end of the war, returning to Australia on the 1 November 1919.
