Description

Mr Harry Seis was a farmer in Gulgong, NSW. He wanted to enlist but remained on the land as primary producers were deemed to be in essential occupations. He mentions the homeguard, and the war effort- parcels sent to Britain including eggs. He describes the end of the war and the welcome home parties for returned soldiers. Mr Seis concludes by saying that the war years were hard, people suffered hardships, but it drew them together.
