Flying low over the cultivated poppy fields of southern Afghanistan. One of a series of images captured by pilot Captain Jason Otter, C Squadron, 5th Aviation Regiment (5 AVN) during Operation Commando Shield, a Deliberate Assault into the Maywand region west of Kandahar. Mission Packet: two UH-60 Blackhawk, two CH-47D, two AH-64 Apache and two OH-58 Kiowa Warrior Helicopters. Left hand Seat Pilot Captain Jason Otter, Right hand Seat Pilot Captain Lukas Wild; Aircrewman unidentified. Mission duration 3.2 hours.
