Description
A red and blue map on linen titled 'Map of Gallipoli' covering the area around Biyuk Anafarta in Gallipoli. Scale 1:40,000, sheet 2, Survey Dept, Egypt and War Office. Map features roads, populated places, trenches, rivers, and vegetation. Annotations include '42', '69', 'Nagara Liman', 'Ruined Minaret', 'Shrine', 'Inam Chai', 'Kojadere', 'Peren Ovasi', 'Fisherman Hut', 'Fountain', 'Karnabili', 'Chinar Dagh', and 'Yalova'. On the reverse there is a purple stamp that reads 'Gallipoli 2 1:40,000', and handwritten notes 'Col Monash Spare' and 'Lt Col J.H. Cannan; C/O 15th Bn; 4th (Aust) Inf Bde; NZ.A Div; A & NZ Army [Co?]'.
