Rouen La Cathedrale
Description
The Rouen Cathedral, also known as Cathèdrale Notre-Dame de Rouen, located in Normandy. During the First World War, the city of Rouen was used as a supply base by the British. During the Second World War in 1944 the Rouen Cathedral was damaged by Allied bombing.
Paul Mansard was a pseudonym of the French artist H. Dupont. The artist was also known by Marcel Augis. Paul Mansard produced a number of etchings of areas along the Western Front after battles had taken place.
Belle smith, who served as a nurse during the First World War, brought this print back to Australia from France.
