Description

File of items relating to the First World War service Lieutenant Cecil Beaumont Mills, 23rd Infantry Battalion. Most of these items were sent by Mills while on active service back home to his family in Australia, enclosed in letters. Also included is a letter from the 3rd Military district advising Mills of his appointment to the AIF.

Letter from the Colonel of the 3rd Military District to 2nd Lieutenant C.D. Mills, 24 September 1915;
Anzac Bulletin, No. 2, London, 12 July 1916;
Colour patches of the 23rd Battalion belonging to Cecil Beaumont Mills [Newer one possibly sent with letter dated 29 January 1916 and faded ones with letter dated 16 July 1916];
Purple and white silk baby pants with lace trim.
