Description

This poster presents a striking depiction of a female militia holding a rifle and protecting a field and workers. Typically North Vietnamese propaganda posters encouraged equal opportunities for men and women in Vietnamese society. The female workforce was considered necessary in order to build the economy, and women were encouraged to educate themselves and contribute to production and the revolution.

This is one of 5 North Vietnamese propaganda posters collected by an Australian Private from a bunker during Operation Diamantina, a reconnaissance in force to the North East of Phuoc Tuy Province in September 1968.
