Studio portrait of 417075 Flight Sergeant (Flt Sgt) Brian Patrick Evans. Flt Sgt Evans enlisted in the Australian Army on 20 March 1941 in Wayville, South Australia. While training in Adelaide, he was found successful for enlistment with the RAAF, changing service on 6 December 1941. During instrument practice on 30 September 1943, Flt Sgt Evans’ plane crashed at No. 6 Service Flying Training School (RCAF). The aircraft struck a tree while proceeding under a low cloud ceiling and the two crew members were killed. He was 20 years old.
