Map of Gallipoli. Sheet 1
Description
Map, titled Map of Gallipoli Sheet 1. Scale 1:40,000 map relating to the service of CSM Robert Maxwell Finch (309), 5th Battalion. The map has annotations and the contour lines have been hand coloured. Anzac cove is marked but in the wrong location. The back of the map is annotated with Finch's name and the date 25 April 1915. The map has some tears on the fold lines.
The 5th Battalion took part in the Anzac landing on 25 April 1915, as part of the second wave. Finch was wounded in the thigh on the 26 April 1915 and evacuated. He returned to his unit at Anzac on 12/6/15.
