Fremantle, WA. Left or port side view of the transport Ceramic which during World War 1 was requisitioned by the Commonwealth for use as a transport and was part of the first convoy transporting the first AIF to the Middle East. On 1942-12-06 she was torpedoed and sunk off the Azores by a U-boat, possibly 11 RAN Dems gunners being lost with her. (Naval Historical Collection)
