Description
An aerial port bow view of the 2,608 ton Netherlands cargo steamer Both. A 12 pounder AA gun is mounted on the stern with light AA guns in the bridge wings. The Both helped transport Australian troops of ‘Gull Force’ to Ambon in December 1941, operations in the Netherlands East Indies (NEI) in early 1942, and later took part in the Operation Lilliput supply convoys to New Guinea from December 1942 to June 1943.
