Description
Talk presented by Sir Bernard Callinan to the United Services Institute of Victoria in June 1986 about "Independent Company Operations in Timor World War II". Discusses his own and others involvement in the 2/2 Independent Company. Mentions the Japanese invasion, the capture and execution of Australian troops near Dili, radio communications, contact with 2/40th Infantry Battalion in Koepang, the 2/2nd's staging the counter offensive and holding out for ten months.
