Description
Letter from Nellie MacGee to the editor of the Sydney Morning Herald, Watsons Bay, 20 February 1919. She asked the editor to published the two attached letters from her son as to give the Herald readers more information about the Australian Navy. The first letter is from Walter Stuart MacGee HMAS Brisbane to his Mum, Sea Marmora, 11 December 1918. This letter details the HMAS Brisbane travelling between and time in the Dardanelles and Sebastopol in Crimea. The second letter is from Walter Stuart MacGee HMAS Brisbane to his Mum and Ron, Smyrna, 15 December 1918. The letter describes the reception in Smyrna as HMAS Brisbane led the first fleet of boats to anchor there at the end of the war.
