Description
Thesis "Post Evatt Australian Labor Party attitudes to the United States Alliance (1961 to 1972)". Discusses attitudes within the ALP to the American alliance. Examines the foreign policy making process within the party and evaluates the effects of factionalism within the party, engagement in Vietnam and disengagement from the Asian theatre on this policy. Also looks at attitudes towards American defence installations in Australia and the degree to which it was perceived that this tied Australian world policy into line with American policy. MA, University of Western Australia, 1974.
