Nakom Paton camp
Description
Depicts the canteen looking across the pond to the camp. In 1944 the artist along with other medical staff, was moved to Nakom Paton, another large hospital camp. This was the last camp that the artist experienced during his imprisonment. As the war neared its end, the atmosphere in the camp became more apprehensive. Allied aircraft regularly passed overhead, and as the camps were not identified from the air, these were anxious times for both the prisoners and guards.
