BREN Mk 1 Light Machine Gun
Description
The receiver is marked on the left side 1942 with an arrow within a D and Mk I with FTR 4. 51 and has offset drum operated back sight. A release lever is on the left side for quick change operation of the barrel. The Mark I* barrel is stamped U6919-8 (crossed out) and the new serial number of the gun.
History / Summary
This Bren gun is one of the second batch made at the Lithgow factory without the optical sight bracket on the left. It was refurbished in April 1951.
