Cased Colt 1851 Navy Model Revolver
Cased Colt 1851 Navy Model single action, six shot revolver. Barrel top marked ADDRESS COL. COLT LONDON. The cylinder has a naval engagement scene of 1843. The grips are two piece plain wood. Most of the original blued finish on the metalwork has been worn off. This pistol is contained in a oak case measuring 355x160x60mm and has a brass escutheon plate on the lid.The inside is lined in green baize with compartments holding the cleaning rod, bullet mould, a wooden handled screwdriver, a tin of percussion caps made by Eley Brothers and 24 lead projectiles. Inside the lid is a paper chart with the directions for loading and cleaning the revolver.
This pistol was assembled in London from parts sent from the Hartford factory in the United States.
