STARBOARD BOW VIEW OF THE DESTROYER HMS ELECTRA (H27) COMING ALONGSIDE AN UNIDENTIFIED VESSEL (NOT SHOWN). THE MEN ON THE FORECASTLE ARE PREPARING TO FIRE A LINE ACROSS. NOTE THE 4.7 INCH MARK IX GUNS IN THEIR CP MARK XVII MOUNTINGS. THEY WERE CONTROLLED BY THE DESTROYER DIRECTOR CONTROL TOWER ON THE BRIDGE. X MOUNTING IS TRAINED RIGHT AROUND TO PORT AND THE GUN ELEVATED. A .5 INCH QUADRUPLE AA MACHINE GUN IS FITTED AMIDSHIPS. THE AFTER FUNNEL HAS BEEN CUT DOWN TO IMPROVE THE SKY ARCS OF THE ANTI AIRCRAFT ARMAMENT. THE SHIP IS PAINTED IN THE WESTERN APPROACHES CAMOUFLAGE SCHEME DESIGNED BY SIR PETER SCOTT.
