Description
Chicom Type 58 Machine Gun. Square section steel receiver with a wooden butt and pistol grip. The air cooled barrel with a cone flash suppressor has a slotted cover jacket for half the length and a carry handle at the point of balance near the breech. The receiver is marked with 36 in a triangle and it is a left hand belt feed. The folding bipod and steel butt plate are missing.
History / Summary
This Chinese weapon is a copy of the Soviet Type RP-46 machine gun. It was captured by Australian forces in Vietnam.
