"This'll slay 'em!"
Description
Cartoon published in 'Salt', Vol. 9, No. 9, 1945, p. 37. 'Salt' was a small magazine that informed and entertained Australian servicemen and women during the Second World War. Cartoon depicts three captains standing around a table with an eye chart behind them on the wall. On the table is a standard-size syringe and medical bottle. One officer holds out a larger syringe while another presents an enormous syringe; laughing, he declares "This'll slay 'em!". Peeping around the door is a naked soldier who has perhaps been waiting for his medical, his expression of shock reveals his assumption that the enormous syringe is intended for him.
