1956-05-02. AERIAL PORT SIDE VIEW OF THE AIRCRAFT CARRIERS HMAS MELBOURNE (II), NEAREST THE CAMERA, IN COMPANY WITH HMAS SYDNEY (III), WHICH WAS OPERATING AS THE FLEET TRAINING SHIP. THE MELBOURNE HAS JUST ARRIVED IN AUSTRALIAN WATERS FOR THE FIRST TIME. SHE IS CARRYING A DECK CARGO OF SEA VENOM AND GANNET AIRCRAFT WITH A SINGLE METEOR STOWED FORWARD.
