Harrison, Phillip Harry (Private,16 Infantry Battalion "C" Company, b.1891 - d.1915)
Description
Original (handwritten copy) and photocopy of Harrison's letter to his cousin giving account of the landing at Gallipoli 25 to 28 April 1915. Written well after the event, it mentions Harrison's and others work as signallers, conditions, positions reached (Shrapnel Gully and Pope's Hill) work of stretcher bearers and the troopship Suang Bee. Harrison was killed in action on 7/8/1915 and is commemorated at Lone Pine Memorial.
