Description
Collection relating to brothers Private Oliver Joseph Bourke Clarke and Gunner James Vincent Clarke. Collection consists of photocopies of letters written home to their family. Pte Oliver Clarke's letters written between August 1916 and March 1917, discuss Light Horse patrols in Egypt and Palestine, Battle of Romani, and the humourous capture of a Turkish soldier. Gnr James Clarke's letters, written between January and July 1917, discuss his hospitalisation, joining of a heavy artillery brigade and the fighting at Pozieres.
