Collection related to 2784336 Signalman Stuart Lindsay Weller, 104 Signal Squadron, and his service in Vietnam between 1967 and 1968.
Description
Informal outdoor portrait of 2784336 Signalman (Sig) Stuart Lindsay Weller, 104 Signal Squadron, resting on the patio he and his tent-mates built atop their mortar pit. In the background is the RAEME volleyball court. Weller remembers: "We worked shift work in the communications building and sleep was always at a premium. Noise was always happening so it didn’t matter if you tried to sleep in the tent or outside, though it was possibly cooler outside. I’ve moved my blow-up mattress but onto the patio. A close look at my ankle will also show I had it bandaged as I’d sprained it." One of 477 colour 35mm transparencies taken or collected by Sig Weller relating to his service in Vietnam between 1967 and 1968.
