Description
Portrait of 2784336 Signalman (Sig) Stuart Lindsay Weller, 104 Signal Squadron, "doing a warrie" (posing standing with rifle for a photograph), while on a training exercise named Nil Aqua at the Shoalwater Bay exercise area north of Rockhampton, Qld. One of 477 colour 35mm transparencies taken or collected by Sig Weller, relating to his service in Vietnam between 1967 and 1968. Sig Weller notes: "Rod [216622 Corporal Rodney Frank Lumb] decided, that as I’d snapped him in an uncharacteristic pose, I should be shown in an equally unfamiliar guise – an alert, fully trained, dedicated, brave and deadly jungle fighter."
