Logan, Donald John (Private, b.1886 - d.?)
Collection relating to the First World War service of 6348 Private Donald 'Don' John Logan, France and England, 1918-1919. Collection consists of four handwritten letters from Don to Ruby Bulkeley covering the period between May 1918 and May 1919 (the final letter has no specified year however it is assumed based on included content to date from 1919). The letters detail the weather, Logan's time on the Western front in France, his being injured by a bullet to the neck and face, and a humorous story about the lady with whom he had been billeted in July 1918. His last letter also talks about the number of soldiers waiting to return home to Australia on family ships with their new British wives, and the impact of the Spanish Flu on his family.
