Slawik, Alma (b.1918 - 2008)
Description
Collection relating to the Second World War and immigration experience of Alma Slawik, a Polish Holocaust survivor. The collection consists of a falsified Polish Government identity card for Maria Marta Koltuniak, dated 1943. Her religion is noted as Roman Catholic. The collection also contains Alma Slawik’s Certificate of Exemption – allowing her to enter Australia.
Alma Slawik and her family were Polish Jews who survived the Holocaust, then moved to Australia in 1948. Alma was originally known as Maria Koltuniak, however settled upon Alma Slawik following her immigration to Australia. Her husband was Bernard Slawik, and her daughter Eva.
